Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

When I was 10 years old, my father give me a book, the book is "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea". It is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne published in 1870.



The book tells the story of Captain Nemo and his submarine Nautilus as seen from the perspective of Professor Pierre Aronnax. The story begins in 1866, there is a sea monster unknown, Professor Pierre Aronnax as a marine animal experts, with the expedition to exterminate monsters, only to fall into the sea, was a "Nautilus" submarine to save. So, he and Captain Nemo began a thrilling, magical undersea travel. They arrival the Antarctic; witnessed the eruption of underwater volcanoes and the spectacular miserable scene of sunken submarine; enjoy the beautiful and full of dangerous underwater world ...... However, Captain Nemo why lived in isolation? What is "Nautilus"s' ultimate fate? This all is a mystery.

I like this book very much, Because this book brought a lot of fun to my childhood. It makes me full of fantasy about the sea world, also makes me learned a lot of knowledge.

The old man and the sea


I would like to recommend a book to you. The book is "The old man and the sea". It is a novella by Ernest Hemingway, written in Cuba in 1951 and published in 1952. The author Hemingway is a American novelist . This book is his masterpiece. It is a very famous book.

The Old Man and the Sea recounts an epic battle between an old fisherman and a giant marlin. The fisherman has gone 84 days without catching any fish at all. He is so unlucky. He does not lose confidence, continue to go fishing. Thus on the eighty-fifth day, he caught the "1500 pounds more than a big Marlin", but In the course of fishing, he encountered large sharks, fought desperately with the sharks, Finally,the Marlins has been by large sharks eat up, he only brought back a fish skeleton.

The story told us, "A man can be destroyed but not be defeated." The external body can withstand torture, but the faith of the inherent is indelible. I love this book, because whenever I encounter difficulties, I will think of this story, it makes me have the courage to face difficulties.
